The article considers the aspect of agricultural development at the level of the subject as factors influencing food security. The study is based on the methodological principle of the increasing role of public participation in agricultural development and the dependence on the level of food security. The main policy documents in the field of the agro-industrial complex at the federal and regional levels were analyzed. A description is given of the level of state support for agricultural production and social development of the village of Sverdlovsk region from the federal and regional budgets, investments in fixed assets in the agro-industrial complex (large and medium-sized organizations), as well as labor productivity and average monthly wages in the agro-industrial complex of the Sverdlovsk region. The analysis of the agricultural sector of the Sverdlovsk region includes indicators of the development of crop production and livestock production for all categories of producers (livestock in farms of all categories, the production of all types of livestock production, the sown area of all crops by types of categories of farms), the level of material and technical base (construction and modernization of dairy livestock production facilities, a park of specialized agricultural equipment). The description of the level of self-sufficiency of agricultural products in the Sverdlovsk region (potatoes, eggs, vegetables, milk and milk products) is presented. This analysis shows that unfavorable trends call into question the further development of agriculture in the Sverdlovsk region. Special attention should be paid to the renewal of fixed assets and the purchase of agricultural machinery. Considering the potential risks in the field of the agro-industrial complex and agriculture, the author formulated proposals aimed at ensuring food security in the Sverdlovsk region.
