Abstract (English):
The article examines aspects of the organization of funeral services and the maintenance of burial places as a function of state (municipal) management, provides a legal framework governing the organization of burial and funeral business in the Russian Federation and the municipality "City of Magadan". An assessment of the activities of local self-government bodies of the municipal formation "City of Magadan" on the organization of funeral business is carried out, a characteristic is given of the activities of a specialized service on funeral affairs of MBU Magadan "Ritual". The main directions of the implementation of the municipal program "Organization of the funeral business on the territory of the municipal formation" City of Magadan "for 2018-2022 were also considered. The main problems of the sphere of funeral services and the maintenance of burial places in the municipality are highlighted.
