Abstract (English):
To study the development of the traditional economy of the Arctic regions of Yakutia in the 1990s, the issue of studying herd horse breeding, the traditional branch of animal husbandry, was considered. The dynamics of the number of horses in three groups of districts is analyzed. Statistical data on the specific weight of the number of horses in the public and private sectors are presented, as well as two qualitative indicators of herd horse breeding. Local examples show the problems of the development of herd horse breeding by the end of the studied period and official decisions at the meeting of horse breeders of the republic.
