The work is devoted to the study of the issues of formation of effective cooperative and integration models in the agricultural sector of the economy. The theoretical aspects of cooperation and integration are considered, examples of integration of the largest enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of Russia are given, factors influencing the success of implementation of these models are identified, international experience of development of agriculture is studied. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of Russian conditions, including features of the legal framework, organizational forms of agricultural enterprises and economic incentives for combining efforts of agricultural producers. There are recommendations for improving the existing mechanisms of interaction between entities of the agro-industrial complex, aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the industry and ensuring food security of the country.
