At the current stage of development, the growing importance of the BRICS+ alliance is an indisputable aspect of the changing landscape of trade and economic relations on the world stage. It is important to establish mutually beneficial cooperation between the participating countries on a number of issues related to increasing their trade, financial and resource potential, which opens up new horizons for their introduction into international markets. One of these countries is the Republic of South Africa (RSA), as one of the largest on the African continent, with an area of about 1.2 million square meters. With a population of over 63 million people, South Africa has a strategically important position on the continent as a connecting center for establishing economic and logistical ties. One of the significant vectors for South Africa is the improvement of trade and economic cooperation with agricultural products, which, despite a number of difficulties caused by a lack of infrastructure, problems with the regulatory framework and the widespread influence of the countries of the Global North, continues its successful development. The study reveals the importance of expanding trade relations with agricultural products using the example of the beef market between Southeast Asia and South Africa. The approaches are evaluated, as well as the risks limiting such development within the BRICS+ countries are analyzed. The main conclusions of the article focus on the possibilities of implementing strategic approaches to sustainable livestock development in South Africa as one of the areas of growth in the export potential of trade and economic relations within the BRICS+ countries. It is the use of advanced technologies in production, improvement of the work of veterinary services, as well as work on the introduction of uniform sanitary norms and standards that will allow South Africa to increase its competitiveness in the global market.
