Russian Federation
Currently (autumn 2024), the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation is finalizing the development of a draft Strategy for Spatial development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 with a forecast up to 2036. This important document has been the subject of detailed discussion at the level of executive authorities, the country's parliament, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and leading scientific and practical forums. Analyzing the conclusions and proposals of leading scientists regarding the strategic development of the country, the presented article notes that the tasks of spatial development cannot be solved only by achieving any values of economic indicators. In the existing Russian realities, the necessary level of inflation, gross domestic product, gross regional product and other economic indicators become one of the conditions for achieving the main goal – improving the quality of life of the population.
