The modern agricultural sector of the Russian economy has faced a systemic challenge that determines the need to update the scientific, information, technical, and technological base of the agro-industrial complex on a fundamentally new basis and transition to a qualitatively new innovative type of development. In this article, we have considered some problems in the processes of agricultural production related to the material and technical security of the domestic agro–industrial complex and possible ways to resolve them. The measures of state support for agricultural producers aimed at overcoming the investment insufficiency of the agricultural sector in order to increase productivity and efficiency of agricultural production in the modern digital economy are studied.
