The article presents the characteristics of agro-industrial tourism as a promising area of domestic tourism in the Russian Federation, as well as the mutual impact of its development on the economy of rural areas, contributing to the integrated development, diversification of the rural economy, increasing profitability and maintaining agricultural producers. The conditions for the development of agro-industrial tourism in the regions of Russia are defined: the synergetic effect of cooperation between the tourism industry and agricultural business; the implementation of the concept of greening; the tendency to observe a proper lifestyle, preserve health and habitat. The accompanying external and internal factors of agro-industrial tourism are indicated: the specifics of the activity, the location of the enterprise, safety measures, seasonality, weather conditions.
