DAIRY TRADE IN ASIA-PACIFIC IN THE CONTEXT OF APEC/ESCAP

Abstract (English):
The article presents the results of research on the main categories of dairy foreign trade among the countries of the Asia-Pacific. For an analysis, the countries most involved in international cooperation were selected, particularly, the countries participating in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, as well as the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. For quantitative analysis of international dairy trade, statistical data from the International Trade Center (ITC) on the import and export of goods are used, grouped in accordance with the international harmonized commodity description and coding system (HS Code): 0401, 0402, 0403, 0404, 0405, 0406 for the period from 2001 to 2020. The analysis of dairy trade balance changes of the selected countries is carried out. The countries with the most dramatic changes in trade balances stand out: trade balance decrease in China and Russia, increase in New Zealand. The structure of import (China, Russia) and export (New Zealand) of dairy products by main groups is given. The main trends that influenced the change in the trade structure of the selected countries are described.
