Abstract (English):
The article presents a retrospective assessment of the functioning of the regional education system, both in general and in the context of rural areas. The article considers the theoretical views of scientists on the functioning of the education system as the most important element of the entire system of socio-economic development of the region. The main aspects of the essential importance of education for the socio-economic development of the region are highlighted, such as: the presence of a high-quality education system acts as a driver for increasing the level of innovative activity in the region, the adaptability of the regional educational environment helps to form the current structure of the labor market as much as possible corresponding to the needs of the regional economy, the use of unique and advanced educational programs contributes to the formation of highly specialized specialists who have an increased level of demand in knowledge-intensive industries, the construction of a high-quality education system helps to remove a certain level of social tension in civil society. The authors in the work carried out a retrospective analysis of the functioning of the education system of the Kursk region, and also identified vectors for expanding the potential of the regional educational space in the countryside. It is concluded that the expansion of the country's potential and opportunities largely depend on the quality of the functioning of the educational system, since within it the competencies of citizens used in all spheres of the national economy are formed, as well as the construction of public consciousness of cultural and moral sufficiency, aimed at protecting national interests and progressive development. The construction of a unified educational space, among other things, should take into account the specifics of the development of rural areas, which is characterized by an uneven distribution of the population and the presence of a significant number of socio-economic problems. Expanding the potential of the educational mechanism directly in rural areas will contribute to an increase in the standard of living of the population, a decrease in social tension, as well as an increase in the attractiveness of these ecosystems for the set residence of citizens.
