Despite the increase in the volume of construction and reconstruction of roads, the quality of work left much to be desired. Design errors, unreliable engineering surveys, all this, and much more can be factors that turn the road surface into an emergency state. The article presents the results of one of the cycles of systematic observations Surgut – Salekhard highway, section of Pangoda – Pravokhettinsky. Monitoring work began after examining a section of the highway, performing control-engineering surveys and making a number of decisions to stabilize the roadway. The author of the article, at the object, acted as a surveyor engineer and accompanied the monitoring work from the moment of installation of geodetic and scientific-experimental equipment until the completion of the work.
