A SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF MEASURES TO IMPROVE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AS A FACTOR OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY OF MINING ENTERPRISES
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
Ensuring safe working conditions in mining enterprises is a complex multifactorial system that encompasses human, socio-economic, socio-technical and natural sustainability factors. In addition to the factors affecting the safety of workers in most industries and, as a result, their socio-economic stability: construction workers, metallurgists, etc., and miners are faced with difficult working conditions in a confined space, without sunlight, and often in a suffocating, dusty industrial atmosphere. Therefore, reducing the impact of each of the negative factors is an important socio-economic task, which is the main purpose of this article. In our opinion, socio-economic sustainability and labor safety at mining enterprises is a more complex, multifactorial system that includes, in addition to the human and technical factors, the natural factor and the socio–economic factor. At the same time, the presence of a natural factor is due to the influence of natural forces, meteorological factors, mining, geological and mining conditions for mining, etc. However, combined with the need to develop regions, as well as individual single-industry towns, a socio-economic factor is being formed, which forms the basis for assessing socio-economic sustainability. The relationship between socio-economic sustainability and occupational injuries in mining enterprises is also clearly visible. The annual socio-economic losses associated with occupational injuries and the compensations provided to mining workers in connection with work in harmful and dangerous working conditions in the form of annual additional paid leave and reduced working hours lead to a significant reduction in GDP, and the losses of the working fund amount to hundreds of millions of man-days.
